Top 10 Korean Dramas that I've Watched with Unique Story Lines

Korean Drama, is one of the Korean influences that has dominated the world. New fans all over the world has been hooked and converted everyday. Not everyone may understand their language, but reading the subtitles doesn't seem to be bothersome. 

I have been a Korean drama fanatic since 2015. I have watched numbers of Korean dramas and been in love with the creative and unique story lines and dreamy lead actors. Here is my top 10 Korean Dramas that I've watched with fascinating unique story lines:

10. My Love from the Star

This is a story of an alien, Do Min-Joon who was stranded on earth for more than 400 years. He was almost able to return home, but finds himself falling in love for a famous actress Cheon Song-Yi. He was turn between leaving and staying for his love.

I find this story funny, romantic and with a sci-fiction twist. The leads exhibit a good chemistry together. 

9. I'm Not A Robot

One of the feel good, romantic and funny Korean Drama that I've watched. This drama shows that love helps conquer and heal all wounds. 

Kim Min Kyu is a rich company Director who develops an allergy to human when he was young. When he touches a human he gets painful rash on his face and body. He gets to meet Jo Ji Ah, who pretends as a robot for certain circumstances. He falls in love with her in the long run. 

8. Rooftop Prince

This Korean Drama will definitely make you laugh, cry and smile. It started as a romantic comedy and eventually turns to a melodrama.  

Rooftop Prince follows the theme of reincarnation. It showcase two stories in two different lifetimes. Crown prince Lee Gak transports 300 years in the future following the death of his wife. In the 21st century Seoul, he meets Se-Na who has uncanny resemblance with the deceased crown princess. 

7. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

This Korean Drama has a theme of supernatural - mythical romantic comedy. This is fun to watched. The lead actress is very pretty. They compliment each other. 


This a story of a mysterious yet very beautiful girl Shin Min-Ah,  who turns out to be a gumiho, a legendary fox with nine tails. She meets Cha Dee-Woong who is a wannabe action star. 

6. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

This is definitely one of my favorite Korean Drama. It is one of those feel good drama that you would love. 


Do Bong Soon, a strong woman born with super human strength which every woman in their blood line inherits. She was hired by Ahn Min-Hyuk, CEO of a gaming company to be his bodyguard. 

5. While You Were Sleeping

I was really hooked with this drama because of its unique plot. Kudos to the writer. 

This is a story of Nam Hong Joo, a woman who has visions through her dreams of terrible things that will happen to people in the future. Together with Jung Jae Chan, a prosecutor, they tries to prevent these things from happening in real life. 

4. Master's Sun

This is an enjoyable drama to watched. It has a theme of supernatural and horror twist for a love story but it is not really scary.

The story revolves in the life of Tae Gong-Shil, a young woman who is tormented by her ability to see ghosts. She developed this ability after surviving an accident who made her in coma for a long time. She finds a safe heaven with Joo Joong-Won. When she touches his hand all the ghost disappears. They made a deal, in return for his favor she promised to help him solve the mystery surrounding his girlfriend's death. 

3. W - Two Worlds

This is definitely one of the most unique stories that I've watched. The writer is very imaginative and creative.

In the story, a surgical doctor was being pulled into a webtoon world of W, which her father created. All things in the webtoon turns into life in world of W. She becomes entangled in a murder mystery in the webtoon world and she developed a feeling with its lead character. 

  

2. Goblin

Who would never fall for the story of Goblin. It will you smile, cry, and fall in love with the two male leads who plays as the goblin and the grim reaper. This is definitely one of the most watched and talk about Korean Drama. 

Gong Yoo plays as Kim Shin, a warrior who was impaled on a sword centuries ago and transformed into an immortal. In his quest for a bride to break his immortal curse, he meets a grim reaper and a student with tragic past who turns to be the goblin's bride.

1. Legend of the Blue Sea

This is my favorite Korean Drama of all time. It contains a complete recipe of fun, romance and melodrama. I really love the story plot.


This is a story of a Joseon-era mermaid who finds herself transported to modern day Seoul where she meets Joon Jae , a genius swindler who looks exactly as Kim Moon, the son of a nobleman from the Joseon dynasty. It depicts a reincarnation story. They tries to change the tragic ending from the past to happen again in the future.
